*AUGUST EXCLUSIVE* MINDFUL MANDALA ROCK PAINTING
Mindful Mandala Rock Painting is a workshop where guests paint and sculpt mandalas. Mandalas are ancient circles that can be used to center oneself and connect with others.
*NEW* SUMINIGASHI: THE ART OF LETTING GO
Often times we find ourselves attempting to control outcomes, although some of the best things come our way when we free ourselves from expectation. Using the ancient art of Suminigashi, you will create a marble effect with ink on water, allowing the ink to move without manipulation, creating a unique design symbolizing how beauty reveals itself from letting go. $95
AN UNFORGETTABLE CANVAS
Tap into your creative spirit by using the side of a horse (that’s right, a horse!) as your canvas. We use a living canvas to remind us to stay present and grounded in our storytelling. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring a hat, sunscreen, and water bottle. Note that this can be a messy experience. $105
Join our resident photographer for a stroll around the resort walkways and trails. Work on creating images and gain awareness of available natural light and compositional elements to create a stronger, more interesting image. Close-toed shoes are recommended.
PHOTOGRAPHY WITH YOUR PHONE
Explore the technical capabilities of the camera that’s almost always on you. Participants learn about the many ways you can use your camera phone while developing your understanding of photography principles. Wear closed-toed walking shoes and outdoor clothing, and bring your charged smartphone. No experience required.
CRYSTAL BALL PHOTOGRAPHY
Change your perspective by peering through a different type of lens. This photography session teaches you to use your phone’s camera to capture images through small crystal balls that contort and change how you view an object. Transform images by filtering them through these glass orbs that remind us that our vision can expand to reshape anything we face into a work of art. $50
KINTSUGI: THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION
Literally meaning, ‘to join with gold’, this traditional Japanese art reassembles the shattered pieces of a broken piece of pottery with a richly colored gold lacquer. Create your own Kintsugi vessel in this workshop that examines our relationship with fracture and imperfections, both real and symbolic, with compassionate reflection and a renewed perspective on what it means to be whole. Instead of disguising, discarding, or replacing the cracks in art or in life, we can render the traces of imperfection with beauty and strength. $95
